It's August!
Soon school will be starting and the weather will be cooling. After a busy summer, we hope you can take some quiet time for yourself and your craft. Join us in the shop-bring your project and craft at the table with others on Thursday evenings or Saturday afternoons. Maybe you'll want to explore our new yarns, take a class and learn a new skill, or even start on some Holiday gifts!
New Yarn!
We always enjoy introducing a new yarn to our selection: meet Juniper Moon Farm Patagonia Organic Merino, a 100% organic merino wool non-superwash sport-weight yarn that can be machine washed in cool water on a delicate cycle. Patagonia Organic Merino is heathered and has a rustic appearance but is next-to-skin soft. We've paired it with a strand of silk mohair to knit Andrea Mowry's Minted hat and have plans for sweater projects as well.
August Classes
August 15, 10:30am-12: Learn to Knit $40
Are you ready to get started in a new craft? We will learn the knitted cast on and the garter stitch--the building blocks for so many knitted projects!
August 15, 22, 10:30 am-12: Knit the Minted Hat $20 per session
 The Minted Hat is a beautiful accessory that will keep you or a loved one cozy and stylish this winter, and, even if you are a beginner knitter, it is definitely manageable. You may want to knit several for Holiday gifts!
In Session 1 we will cover the German twisted cast on, a stretchy and attractive cast on for hats, socks, and more. Then you will knit ribbing in the round. This is a good practice if you are new to knitting in the round.
In Session 2 we will learn cables and reading cable charts.
Sign up for both sessions or only the one you need--if you feel confident with German Cast on and Ribbing, then only sign up for the Cable session.

Session 2: Heel flap and turn, instruction on the gusset
Date TBD: Knit your First Sweater Class--We will guide you through the sweater knitting experience with the Felix Pullover, designed by Amy Christoffers.
