Our fearless leader Jill knit this gorgeous (Modified ) Shetland Cowl by Helga Isager holding the Isager Mohair and silk with the Alpaca 2
Alpaca 2 is a soft, yet structured blend of alpaca & wool. The plied strand gives wonderful stitch definition to cables, lace & textured patterns. Wool gives the yarn shape & structure, while the alpaca delivers a soft halo & perfect amount of drape. A light, yet cozy yarn ideal for shawls, wraps, accessories & fine gauge sweaters. The yarn comes in a modern palette of solids & heathers with several natural undyed heathers.
Located on a small farm in Tversted, a lovely seaside village located on the northern tip of Denmark, Isager has been designing timeless patterns & yarns since 1977.
Fiber Content: 50% Alpaca, 50% Wool
Weight: Super Fine/ Fingering

Meet Isaac
Isaac is a fun loving yarn enthusist who loves to knit and has been coming to GYI for "almost exactly a year!" "I learned to crochet as a child with my grandmother, and picked it back up during covid and the shelter in place order. I started knitting here a year ago with encouragement from the GYI community." Isaac wanted to try making hats but wasn't satisfied with how they came out in crochet. "Some folks at the shop got me started knitting my first hat and things have spiraled from there." The sweater Isaac is wearing is made using Lopi yarn and is a favorite. Trying to make a sweater vest is next on the agenda! One thing Isaac likes about GYI is that we "source yarns in a variety of price points and textures that inspire me to start the project that best suits the yarn. I also love being able to work with other knitters to troubleshoot projects that I would otherwise find too daunting." Isaac, we love your work and enjoy having you at the shop!
